2012 Updates for Interventional Radiology, Cardiology, and Vascular Surgery
Join us for our annual webinar that specifically addresses the new codes and bundling issues slated for 2012.
2012 - Basic Catheter Selections
This webinar starts with basics to help successfully choose the correct catheter selection codes during complex diagnostic and interventional cases. It focuses on physician documentation, anatomy (normal and variant), vascular systems, vascular orders, families, and selective vs. non-selective catheter positions.
2012 - Diagnostic Angiography for Peripheral Procedures
This webinar builds on the coding basics again, discussing physician documentation and reviewing catheter selection codes, but also focuses on the imaging supervision and interpretation (S&I) 70,000 series of CPT codes. It covers extremity, visceral, cervicocerebral, thoracic, and abdominal arterial studies. It also briefly reviews venous, pulmonary, and portal venous imaging codes as well.
2012 - Peripheral Vascular Intervention: Part 1
This webinar covers angioplasty, atherectomy, and stenting throughout the vascular system. This includes lower extremity endovascular revascularization procedures, along with visceral upper extremity and cervicocerebral revascularization procedures utilizing endovascular approach.
2012 - Peripheral Vascular Intervention: Part 2
This webinar concentrates on percutaneous thrombectomy, infusion therapy (both thrombolytic and non-thrombolytic), and embolization procedures. The discussion includes guidelines for interventions on native vessels as well as graft vessels. Coding of the procedures is examined as stand-alone procedures, as well as when performed with other interventions.
2012 - Peripheral Vascular Intervention: Part 3
This webinar concentrates on endovascular stent grafts and venous interventions. Thoracic and abdominal aorta stent grafts, as well as iliac stent grafts, are discussed. In addition, rules for the coding of interventions performed in veins are explored, such as TIPS, filter placement, ablations, and others.
2012 - Non-Vascular Interventional Coding: Part 1
This webinar focuses on coding gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and biliary procedures. Biliary and nephrostomy drainage tube placement, replacement, and all maintenance procedures; feeding tube placement, replacement, and maintenance; and biliary and ureteral stent placement, removal, and replacement procedures are covered, as well as other procedures performed percutaneously such as stone removal, dilation, conversion, etc.
2012 - Non-Vascular Interventional Coding: Part 2
This webinar focuses on percutaneous biopsies, abscess and cyst drainages, and tumor ablations. The coding rules surrounding each are discussed, with specific examples included. The differences between a needle aspiration and a biopsy are explained, along with the differences in coding the two types of biopsies. Procedures supporting abscess drainage, such as drainage tube placement, aspiration of the abscess, imaging evaluation of the abscess cavity, drainage tube replacement, etc. are extensively discussed. The differences between abscess drainage and cyst aspiration procedures and their respective coding rules are discussed. The types of tumor ablation procedures performed and the coding guidelines for each are also covered.
2012 - Dialysis Access Coding
This webinar covers creation, assessment, and maintenance of dialysis grafts. It includes anatomy, discussion of the different types of shunts and fistulae, as well as the percutaneous and open interventions most frequently utilized.
2012 - Neurointerventional Coding
This webinar covers procedures in the subspecialty area of neuroradiology. These are complex endovascular procedures that involves vascular imaging and intervention in the head, neck, and spine. Intracranial angioplasty, vasospasm therapy, embolization procedures, venous sampling, thrombolysis, papaverine and verapamil infusion, arterial thrombectomy, as well as carotid, vertebral, and intracranial stenting are covered.
2012 - Cardiology Part 1: Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterizations
This webinar focuses on coding guidelines and documentation required for cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography. Peripheral diagnostic procedures performed with heart catheterizations are also reviewed.
2012 - Cardiology Part 2: Interventional Cardiology Coding
This webinar covers percutaneous cardiac interventions performed in the cardiac catheterization lab. This includes all coronary artery interventions such as stent placement, PTCA, atherectomy, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, and chamber interventions such as atrial and ventricular defect closure and valve replacement.
2012 - Cardiology Part 3: Peripherals in the Catheterization Lab
This webinar focuses on peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures in the catheterization lab. Major areas covered include catheter selections, imaging, angioplasty, atherectomy, stent placement, and thrombolysis.
2012 - Cardiology Part 4: Electrophysiology, Pacemaker, and Defibrillator Coding
This webinar covers electrophysiologic procedures including mapping, pharmacologic challenge, diagnostic studies, and ablation. It also covers pacemaker and defibrillator insertions, revisions, and removals, as well as lead revisions and defibrillation testing. With nine (9) new and eleven (11) revised pacemaker and ICD codes for 2012, this webinar explores and clarifies these changes through discussion and case examples.
2012 - Cardiology Part 5: Pediatric Cardiology Coding
This webinar broadly covers cardiac catheterizations, imaging, and interventions in patients with congenital heart defects. It includes a discussion of common congenital syndromes, as well as pertinent anatomy. It includes discussion of the appropriate coding of peripheral procedures that may be performed in conjunction with congenital heart catheterizations, along with complex cardiac chamber interventions performed on these patients.
